In an effort to better serve the citizens of Brown County with functional and affordable options for onsite wastewater systems, the Brown County Health Department will be following the adopted guidelines of the Ohio Administrative Code, OAC 3701-29-15, which allow for a 12-inch Vertical Separation Distance to perched seasonal water, and an 18-inch Vertical Separation Distance to glacial till and fragipan layers.

Each site will be evaluated based on the soil report that is submitted. All designs submitted for approval should base the system specifications on the above VSD’s as well as all other applicable sections of the OAC 3701-29.
